Special Olympics Maine is looking for more school involvement in the newest Unified Activity in Maine - Unified Robotics! Unified Robotics to bring together students with and without intellectual disabilities on a team to work together to build and program a LEGO robot who will navigate the "RePlay" challenge used in 2020. The state competition will be held on March 8th 2026. Whether your school has an already established Robotics program or are just looking to increase inclusion in other aspects of your school programming, Unified Robotics is now an option for your students. We suggest connecting with your school's Robotics program lead to discuss Unified Robotics as an additional opportunity for students to participate in. Many schools with a robotics program should already have the LEGO kit needed to build the robots needed to participate in the "RePlay". For those schools without a Robotics team, the field kit can be purchased for $100 and Unified Champion Schools Grant Funding can be requested to cover that cost, along with transportation, uniforms, etc.
